Wolverine

Summer, Winter, rain or shine
He takes the world upon his spine.
Over hills and into forest
Never will he be the poorest.
Over mountain: into glory.
This, I say, will be his story:

Alone he travels this great nation
While the bears face hibernation.
Leading liars, beggars too -
He maintains what he holds true.
Fear will haunt beyond belief:
Heart and soul compel relief.
Wolves will challenge unrelenting:
Take advantage at the bell ring.
Stave the fighters all at will,
They will soon receive their fill.
They will soon realize
Wolverine protects his prize.

Gift Wrapped Package

Alone it stands quite gracefully
Adorned in garments for all to see.
Subtle accents attract one’s eye
Entertaining that small fry
Who wrapped this package all alone
Surrounded by Beauty’s own
Tiny, little bag of tricks
That Devilishly makes me sick
Sick I say: And I turn green!
Because I cannot open what I have seen.
Oh how I weep!
Is beauty more than just skin deep?
Can this package keep rain off my head?
Or keep me warm when I lie in bed?
Will this package open my eyes
And show me where Beauty really lies?
Or will this package burn me down

May I?

And so it was: I was awaking;
Body stiff, my body aching.
I assure; I was not faking.

Ears are boxed, I do beseech:
Everything beyond my reach.
A lowly slug; a lowly leech.

The day is gone, night is making:
Drunken soul; bleeding, shaking.
In a hole: love is staking,

Of it’s own, a claim of pain -
Hollowed out, save disdain.
And so it was: a strain in vain.

The Challenge

An abundance of ambition
You will find
Is the tradition
Of a young child’s mind.

The goals are set
And the intentions are true
To see that they’re met
All the way through.

Sometimes we forget
What a dream represents
To an innocent heart
With no regrets.

And sometimes
We take a wrong turn
Make a bad decision
From which we should learn.

When we give in
To temptation
And compromise our values
We face annihilation.

It is said,
That everyone is a child at heart
When the ultimate goal
Is to prove that you’re smart.

That’s when it hits you

Driving At Night

The Fire was burning in his eyes again, like many times before. A dark blanket covered the sky, but all he could see was red: red truck, red night, red road, red drops of acid rain burning into his memory. He was being driven by more than just his truck. He was behind the wheel with Red as his copilot. What a good copilot Red was. Red understood all his pain and all he intended to do to relieve it. But enough of that, he had somewhere to be right now and nothing was going to stop him. Nothing.
